How to fix a smartphone that is not charging

Why is my phone not charging.

The charging problem has been a common problem in our lives since the the cellphone was invented. One day when you connect your phone to the charger, you notice that the phone is not responding, you think maybe you have to wait a little longer for the battery to catch some power so the phone will alert you that it is charging. You come back again after sometime and find that the phone is still not charging. So today I'm gonna help you solve that problem.

First of all we need to identify where the problem is. Try another charger, most smartphone uses the universal charging port. But some phone will not be charged by charger with low milliamps. Try a charger with 1000map or higher. If the phone is not charging, try another power outlet or try to charge another phone and see if it charges. If the outlet is fine then it means the problem is with the phone. Charge your battery with a universal charger to test your phone if it is not dead. If the phone is working then it means the problem is with the charging port.

So now you will have to open the inside of your phone so you can be able to fix the charging port. If you are not got with cellphone repair then you must take your device to a cellphone repair center and get it fix. Don't open it because you will break too many thing and cause multiple issues that will make you pay too much money at the repair center. To remove the charging port of a smartphone you need special tools. You need the hot air gun and the soldering iron.

Buy a new charging port or find another one from your scraps( I recommend buying a new one). Cover all the components next to the charging port using the kapton tape so that they don't get blown away when you blow the charging port using the hot air gun. Blow the port with the heat gun until the paste melt. While blowing hot air, use a metal wire to pick the port out of the board. While still blowing, put the new one and remove the gun for the paste to dry.

Use the soldering iron to stick the connectors to the board. Now close your phone and charge it.
