How to flash the mobicel metro 2 using the SP-tool

The mobicel company is a good smartphone manufacturing company that has manufactured many smatphone devices. It is one of the best selling smartphone company in africa and out side Africa. the most common problem with the mobicel devices is crashing the system(brick). At my workshop i recieve many mobicel devives with the brick problem. Some just hang on the Mobicel screen and wont boot to the home screen. It is not very hard to fix this problem if you have the right tools and a good computer with no heavey virus.

Instructions on how to fix a bricked Mobicel Metro 2. One day you turn on you Mobicel phone, wait for it to boot, you wait for 5minutes and the phone is still on the Mobicel screen and it is not booting to the home screen. On this situation we say the device has bricked. To solve this you will have to flash your device with a software called "SP tool" and the stock rom(firmware) of the device. The ST tool is a tool that flashes all mtk devices (N/B not all Mobicel devices are mtk devices). For other phones that are not mtk devices you will need other tool. for example, to flash a samsung phone you will need to use Odin.

YOU WILL NEED

1. Your Mobicel Metro 2
2. Original or a quality usb cable. Do not use a charging cable
3. Computer running windows os.
4. Internet connection

INSTRUCTION

1. Download the sp tool here

2. Download the mobicel metro 2 ROM(firmware) here. This is the software for the phone.

3. Download and install the mtk drivers. for the device to connect successfully to your computer you will need to download these drivers, but if you have flashed any mtk device before, then skip this step

4. Extract the ROM and sp tool out of the zip files.

5. Open the sp tool and click on the scatter file button.

6. Navigate to the extracted ROM folder and select the scatter file

7. Unchecked preloader and click download.

8. Switch off your mobicel metro2

9. Now connect your mobicel metro 2 with a USB cable to any of the USB ports on your computer.

10. A big green tic will appear once flashing is done

11. Disconnect your device and turn it on.
